We've finally brought support for searching with multiple Railcards to TrainSplit.
Travelling with a mix of Railcards has always been awkward. One person has a 16–25, someone else has a Two Together, someone has nothing at all… and suddenly working out the right tickets becomes more effort than it should be. So we’ve fixed it.
You can now search for journeys using multiple Railcards in a single booking, while still getting the benefit of split tickets.
Up to three different Railcards can be applied across passengers, and we will work out a suitable combination of tickets behind the scenes.
No need to split the journey manually. No need to guess which tickets apply to who. It just handles it.
On the surface, it sounds simple. In reality, it’s not.
Each Railcard has its own rules. Split tickets break journeys into multiple parts. Then you’ve got different passengers, different eligibility, and different combinations of fares.
Getting that right, consistently, without breaking the journey or missing savings, is where things usually fall apart.
This is where we do the heavy lifting.
Say you’re travelling as a group of three: two of you have a Two Together Railcard, and one person doesn’t have a Railcard
Previously, you had to either ignore the Railcard for part of the journey, or book each passenger separately, leading to multiple emails and a higher chance for mistakes to be made.
Now, you can specify all of this upfront, and we will find the best split ticket combination across the journey for all passengers.
We'll also tell you exactly what tickets we are selling you and which Railcards are applied to which tickets, so there's no guesswork required.
You still get:
And thanks to all the seats being booked at once, you're more likely to be allocated seats together.
If you travel with friends, family, or anyone with a different Railcard setup, this removes one of the biggest bits of friction.
No workarounds.
No second guessing.
Just the right tickets, without the hassle.
Buying a Railcard shouldn’t slow you down. With TrainSplit, you can get a digital Railcard instantly and keep it ready in the app when you travel.
No printing. No digging through emails. Just open the app and go.
If you’ve ever thought “this could be cheaper”, you were probably right.
Now it is. Why not give it a try on your next journey?
